Embrace e-commerce to save money - Kyambadde

Trade minister Amelia Kyambadde

Kampala. Trade minister Amelia Kyambadde has advised traders to embrace e-commerce and save the money they are spending on rent. While opening QNET absolute living expo last week, Ms Kyambadde said with today’s technological advancements, it is no longer fashionable to rent physical spaces to parade merchandise.
“Technology has made life so easy, you no longer need physical stores to sell products; we have online shopping malls such as Kilimall here, and Alibaba in China, where you order for goods online and they are delivered to your doorstep,” she said, illustrating that this is the trend Ugandan traders should consider adopting.

QNET is a direct sales company specialising in health and wellness products. They include nutritional and food supplements, skin care, home care, cosmetics that aim to help improve the lives and well-being of its customers.
Other products include energy products, holiday packages, online education courses, and high-end luxury items which are all sold online.
Talking about the company products, Dr Badru Kiggundu, the former Electoral Commission chairman, cited the Amezcua Bio Disc as an example of technology that every household should own because of the way it remodels the structure of water increasing its bioavailability for the human body, therefore promoting better well-being.
“People around me say that I age slower than normal, the secret is in the Amezcua Bio Disc which allows me to make the most of my day. I don’t tire easily, I move with it everywhere I go,” he said.
