LAMWO. A 33-year-old man has died after being gored by a bull in Lukung Sub-county, Lamwo District.
The deceased has been identified by local leaders in the area as Daniel Onek Lapyem, a resident of Okora East Village in Angira Parish.
Onek reportedly met his death on Wednesday evening while heading to his mother’s home.
The LC3 chairperson of Lukung Sub-county, Mr Joachim Ocan, told Saturday Monitor on Thursday that the deceased, who worked as a mason, was attacked by the bull from behind while he went to visit his mother.
Mr Joachim said the bull’s horns ripped through the deceased left thigh and lower back.

Demand for compensation
“The deceased was rushed to a nearby health centre but he couldn’t make it alive.. He over bled and died,” Mr Ocan said.
Mr Ocan added that following the death of Onek, his relatives and those who owned the bull have been locked up in disagreement over compensation since the incident was a mystery.
“This is a very mysterious incident that has never happened in the area. The deceased families are demanding for compensation for the death of their son before he is buried,” Mr Ocan said.
He said the incident is the first of its kind in Lukung Sub-county.
