Gen Muntu apologises to Amuriat over ‘careless statement’ on his FDC membership

Former Forum for Democratic Change president, Gen Mugisha Muntu, has apologised to his successor, Patrick Amuriat over what he described as a careless statement by his communications team on the fate of his party membership.

Earlier, a statement indicating that Gen Muntu and his some of his colleagues had quit membership with Muntu’s picture made the rounds on social media.

At the time, Gen Muntu and other FDC members were still in a meeting at Fairway Hotel in Kampala.

Shortly after the meeting, Gen Muntu told journalists that the statement was careless and released prematurely.
“I apologise to the party president Hon Patrick Amuriat for the statement released carelessly by my communications team. I also apologise for the comments made by Hon Bihande. I am the leader and I have to apologise for that sincerely," Gen Muntu said before adding that he would issue a clear statement through his official social media platforms shortly.
