Hopes dwindle for missing girl’s family

Missing. Susan Magara

Today marks 15 days since Susan Magara was kidnapped by unknown people on her way home in Lungujja, Lubaga Division.
A young woman, 28, Magara worked as an administrator at a family business owned by her dad, John Magara.
In the place of hope now lies trepidation as the family continues to pray that she is safe and sound.

Rebecca Nantogo, who is a friend and workmate of Susan Magara, told Daily Monitor that the family has given up on security agencies and has asked God’s grace to prevail.
Sources revealed that the family has taken a decision not to involve security agencies in the matter.

It is not clear yet where Susan is being held and whether her kidnappers have asked for any ransom.
The Rotract club of Bugolobi, where she is a member, plans to hold a Mass to pray for her at Christ the King Church, Kampala at 5pm tomorrow evening.
Meanwhile, police in Luweero District have rescued two girls from a suspected kidnapper.
The suspect had relocated from Luweero to a guest house in Masindi District where he asked for a ransom of Shs13m to handover the children to the parents.

The area Regional Police Commander, Mr Edward Kyaligonza, who yesterday identified the suspect as Charles Ayesiga, said the suspect tricked the twin girls aged five at the home of their parents located in Mabaale Zone, Luweero Town Council, to buy some eats.
However, he later disappeared with them without their parents’ consent.
“The parents Ms Susan Nakagwa and Mr Juma Nsereko reported the case of disappearance of their twin daughters to Kasana Police Station on Monday evening after they reportedly failed to return from school,” Mr Kyaligonza said.

“The police used the intelligence department to track the calls of the suspect and location as he kept asking for Shs13m to release the children. With the help of Masindi Police, we managed to locate the hideout of the suspect who had booked in at Masindi Guest House with the two Children,” he added.

The children, who according to police, were found in good health have been re-united with their parents while the suspect who faces possible charges related to child kidnap is still helping police with investigations.
Police say the suspect on interrogation claimed that he had no intention to harm the girls, but wanted to get money from the parents for survival.
