The law is taking care of errant politicians, says Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has assured Ugandans on the state of Security of the Country as stable except a pocket of criminality in Kampala City, corruption and a pocket of errant politicians who the strong arm of the law is handling.
Museveni, who on Friday blamed the errant politicians for casing mayhem in areas like Bugiri, Jinja and Arua through beating up defenseless women and youth as part of their political game to undermine the security of the country, said the law is already handling cases involving the politicians.
“We have crimes in towns, the many boda bodas, vehicles crowding in the City and the errant politicians beating up innocent women. The errant politicians are being handled by the law. We also have the CCTV cameras being installed in the city to tame all these criminals,” Museveni who did not elaborate much about the bad politicians said at the pass out of 3988 UPDF army trainees at the Kaweweta Recruit Training School on Friday.
The President who praised the current level of training for both the UPDF and Police said Uganda’s history is clear that the forces are now made up of educated people ready to use their respective education background and training to defend the country.
“The future of Uganda is now very secure because we have an educated force. The course has been tough but I congratulate you for finishing this Course and qualifying to join the Uganda People’s Defence Force. The entire force we are passing out now is educated. Am pleased to see the numbers and quality of the trainees,” Museveni added.
The President hinted on the much improved economy quoting a recent comment by the Vice President of Kenya Ruto who he said revealed the much improved trade where Uganda has exported more to Kenya than exports coming in from Kenya to Uganda in the past few months.
“The Kenya Vice President revealed something which our sleepy people here in Uganda had not taken trouble to note. Uganda exported goods worth 280 million dollars to Kenya and only about 182 million dollars worth of goods came in from Kenya between the month of May and July. This is a big improvement for our economy, Museveni said.
Earlier the Chief of Defence Forces Gen David Muhoozi hinted on the much improved training with room for furnishing up the skills through specialized training at the different army Units where the soldiers will be attached.
