My team is best suited to rule, says FDC candidate

Dr Kizza Besigye

Moroto/Napak.

Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate Kizza Besigye yesterday played up the governance credentials of his team, saying his party has more capacity to run the government than Mr Museveni had when he took over power in 1986.

President Museveni, in power for 30 years this month, is viewed as vastly experienced and in an opinion poll sponsored by Daily Monitor last month, more than half of the respondents said Mr Museveni stood a good chance of winning because of “experience”.

He cited Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu, the FDC president who was army commander for almost 10 years, to demonstrate his point. “How can there be a worry about security?” Dr Besigye told his audience that insecurity would not return to Karamoja if he is elected. He said the disarmament of warriors was mishandled.
