Uganda Cranes conceded late against Gabon as the two countries played out a 1-all draw in a warm up game played at Njeru Technical Centre as part of their preparations for the Chan tournament.

Forward Erisa Sekisambu gave the Cranes a 32nd minute lead nodding home Dennis Okot’s cross, the home side’s best move in what was the first international game hosted at the venue.

But like most Cranes games under Micho Sredojevic, it was the away side that looked more comfortable on the ball.
And they duly got their reward, Ronald Ntsitsigui tapping home after Lionel Yackouya flicked a corner at the near post nine minutes from time.

“I am very happy with the performance because we had heavy legs brought about out by our hard training in the last few days,” Micho explained of his side’s performance.

The away team had 15 attempts on goal compared to seven for the Cranes who also managed three shots on target against five.
“I am confident we can rectify the mistakes we made. I am also aware we have conceded six goals from set pieces and that will be one of the areas to address,” he stated.

The Cranes play another warm up game against Cameroon on Wednesday at the same venue, ahead of the tournament that starts in Rwanda this weekend. Uganda face Mali in the tournament opener.
