Kampala. The Omukama of Tooro Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV and Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga have come out to pour their support towards Cranes ahead of Saturday’s Afcon 2019 qualifier with Cape Verde.

Uganda Cranes need a point off Cape Verde to qualify for the finals in Cameroon. And with just two days left to the encounter at Mandela Stadium, Namboole, the cultural leaders have urged fans to continuously show their love and passion for the national team.

This was after local football governing body Fufa presented original Uganda Cranes jerseys to the leaders. Fufa’s head of marketing and communications Rogers Byamukama and Kitara region delegate Edgar Agaba delivered the first souvenir to the Omukama at his palace in Munyonyo.

“I am happy that the youths are succeeding on the international front through sports,” King Oyo said.
“This is in line with my ambassadorial role of fighting HIV/AIDS prevalence amongst the youths. I will be in Namboole to support the Uganda Cranes,” he added.

Meanwhile at Bulange, Fufa communications manager Ahmed Hussein and marketing director Esther Musoke took the honours of gifting the Katikkiro, who urged Cranes to fight for maximum points.

‘We have a very good team and we can dream of making back to back appearances at the Afcon. I will wear shirt 18 of goalkeeper Denis Onyango on Saturday,” the Katikkiro said.
