Saudi Kyeyune

Kampala. Some of the criticism towards midfielder Saudi Kyeyune is that he often goes missing in the big games and does not get enough goals.

The attacker was however this time the hero scoring the lone goal as URA defeated Jamhuri to set up a semifinal clash against Tanzanian giants Yanga today at the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar.

Receiving a left wing pass from Elukhana Nkugwa, Kyeyune was given time and space to to place the ball high in the bottom left corner of the net with 13 minutes left on the clock.

The win saw the Ugandan team finish second with six points, one behind Group A leaders Simba while host JKU and Pemba side Jamhuri were eliminated with three and one point respectively.

This is after URA defeated JKU 3-1 in the opening game before losing 1-0 to Simba on Wednesday.
The annual tournament won by Tanzanian Simba last year is played to mark Zanzibar Independence and will have the winner go home with a Shs15 million cash prize.
