Rema was left in tears of joy at her maiden concert, “Kukaliba” that was held last Friday at the Hotel Equatoria parking space.

The 23-year-old rising diva in a long golden dress took to the stage, after getting a hug from her godmother Halima Namakula. Before Rema started her performance, she took a deep breath and made the sign of the cross.

The size of her audience overwhelmed her so much that she got on her knees and asked: “Who am I to attract such a crowd? What can I do to thank you?” In answer, the crowd screamed, “Bring Kenzo on stage!”

To thank them, she performed her popular songs, Oli Wange, Sitaki, Fire Tonight and Kukaliba. Rema had good stage presence and seemed to enjoy herself just as much as her fans.

Insisting that Bebe Cool is still her mentor, she thanked him for making her what she is today.

Other acts of the night
To show their support, Bobi Wine, Chameleone, Eagles Production, Aziz Azion, Hilderman, Jamal, and many others set the tone of the concert by performing before Rema came on stage.

And for the awkward moment of the night, Edwin Katamba, more popularly known as MC Kats, was asked to leave the stage, cutting his emcee act for the night short.

Speaking to him the next day, MC Kats explained that it had something to do with him working for the competition.

Rema closed the fun packed show, a few minutes to 1am, with collection of pledges that summed up to over Shs10m through the sale of her album. This was a bid to raise funds for equipment for her band.
