The holidays are upon us. You do not want to be over-dressed or under-dressed when meeting up with friends and family. But most importantly dress appropriately for every function and place you will be going to.
Charlotte Barungi, a stylist, says as much as it is the Christmas holidays, it is important to put some thought in the outfits one will be wearing.
“Let your outfit have a festive vibe to it,” she says, adding, “Do not be too ordinary. It is Christmas time, you need to look the part.”
Barungi advises women to opt for outfits with bold colours such as red, gold, white, yellow and green.
“You could for example go for a red dress or skirt. Let your outfits be vibrant to reflect a celebratory mood,” she says.
Accessories for your outfits
Since the holiday season is a time for celebrations, your accessories also need to define the moment. Barungi highlights some of the important accessories to wear with your festive outfits.
Select sparkling accessories such as glittering earrings, necklaces and rings. These will, without a doubt, reflect a festive mood.
Go for shoes that make a statement, for example, high heels with shouting colours such as red and yellow.
For your hair, you can opt for colour hair pieces including clips. You could also experiment with colourful wigs or coloured hair extensions.
This is not a time to carry your office bag. Put it aside. Rather, opt for those that have a festive vibe to them, such as those with sequin or beaded material.
For a cool vibrant look, do not forget your sunglasses.
