Any chores for men?

Have you ever wondered what kind of chores around the house a man should do? Things that will not erode his masculinity like going down on all fours to light a stubborn sigiri that refuses to light. You know....father of four, exerting himself, nostrils pushed into the underbelly of a sigiri blowing away, a hard look plastered across his face.

Maybe you even have a man that prefers to do nothing at home the whole day but press TV remote control buttons? Personally I think this approach alienates the man, as he is lost in his own world of entertainment. I used to live this approch out so I know. I think when you help around a bit, it makes you feel more useful. You become someone that can be counted on to deliver on a few tasks here and there.

I think that men should help doing the chores that involve getting your hands dirty. Things like hauling out the trash, scrubbing the bathroom, washing the car etcetera. I hold this premise because I think women need to stay clean since they do most of the work in the kitchen that involves food preparation along with countless other chores.

I don’t mind cleaning the bathroom in the master bedroom every weekend and taking out the trash because these don’t take me more than fifty minutes to finish off. In my head I’m thinking... spend fifty minutes once a week handling those two, and do your own thing for the rest of the week. While I will occasionally wash the cars, most weekends I have personal work carried over that I need to finish before the new week so I get someone to do that.

The one dirty job that many men dread, yours trully included is changing diapers. Diaper changes are an absolute hard paper. While I have changed the kids diapers, I have to give myself a little “You can do this” talk” each time I cannot escape from the job. Many women on the other hand somehow don’t mind changing their baby’s diaper. Naturally, a mother will do anything for their child. So if it is a diaper change that is required, she more often than not will get on with it without thinking twice.
On the other hand, while a man loves his children, he kind of compartmentalizers that love. There are things he will do for his children without thinking about it and there are things he will run from if the opportunity for someone else to do them is available.
