KAMPALA. Legends Rugby Club will for the first time host three Nile Special Rugby Premiership ties today. The rubbers will start as early as half past midday (12.30pm) with temperatures expected to soar up to 28°C, when Dusupay Warriors entertain Rams in the early kick off.
The midday games, usually accustomed to by the Shield League players that are younger, have multiple water breaks for hydration.
Warriors coach Ivan Markmot is no fan of playing under such heat but he’s confident his side will adjust to it and push for a result.

“We have no choice but to play at the time allocated by the authorities and hopefully come out on top,” he told SCORE.
“The good thing is that most of our players are on the better side of age and they can adapt to any conditions (hot or cold),” he added. Warriors will be gunning for a third consecutive win after coming out on top against Barbarians and Hippos to improve their return of 41 points in fourth place.

After Warriors and Rams have settled their scores, Rhinos will play Hima Cement Heathens at the same venue with the latter out for maximum points to push Betway Kobs who host Plascon Mongers in the last tie of the day.

Going for maximum points
“We want to win all our next games with maximum points and see what happens in the end,” Heathens Mohammed Athiyo told this paper after they lost to Kobs 21-26 and trail them by three points on the standings.
For Kobs, they have now set sights on the league title and they will go all out against Mongers for a 10th consecutive win since they last dropped a game against Heathens on November 30. A win for Heathens, earlier in the day, will propel them to the top for hours but if Kobs respond immediately, the standings will maintain shape. “We have to do all it takes to remain on top and the easiest way is by winning our games, “said Kobs’ Davis Kyewalabye.
Elsewhere, Barbarians will be desperate to get out of the drop zone with Buffaloes visiting.
