Minister Anite graduates from US university

L-R: The senior Associate Dean & Professor of practice, Dr Deborah Winslow Nutter  of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, State Privatisation and Investment Minister Evelyn Anite and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Republic of Macedonia, Radmila Shekerinska.

The State Minister for Investment Ms Evelyn Anite has graduated from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, in the United States of America.

Ms Anite on Saturday walked away with a Global Masters of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy.

The minister's husband, Mr Allan Kajik, was at hand to congratulate her.

The minister enrolled on the Global Master of Arts Programme in International Law and Diplomacy in January, last year, shortly after Parliament amended the Constitution to scrap the presidential age limit, to allow President Yoweri Museveni, 74, who would be ineligible for presidential contest in 2021, to stand again.

Ms Anite, who was a lead campaigner for scrapping the age limit, said last year that Mr Museveni met the course’s entire $90,000 (Shs342 million) bill.

“It’s a one-year course fully-paid [for] by the President,” she said. It is unclear if the President is financed the study from personal resources or under State House-run scholarship programme.
