Museveni visits Kabaka Mutebi
President Museveni on Tuesday visited Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II at his palace in Banda, Wakiso District.
The two principals held what Mr Museveni described as a cordial meeting where they agreed that all pending issues involving the kingdom's property, land and financial arrears be resolved soon.
“I paid a courtesy call on my brother, His Highness Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, at his palace in Banda, Wakiso District. I thank him for the invitation. We held a cordial meeting where we agreed that all pending issues involving the kingdom's property, land and financial arrears be resolved soonest. I thank the Kabaka for the hospitality extended to my entourage and myself,” Mr Museveni tweeted after the meeting.
Kabaka Mutebi was flanked by Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, Prince David Wasajja, Owek Emmanuel Ssendaula, Owek Ambassador Bill Matovu, former cabinet minister Joyce Mpanga.
The attorney general William Byaruhanga, and investment minister Evelyn Anite also attended the meeting.
In 2013, President Museveni and the Kabaka signed a memorandum of understanding in which the former agreed to return all kingdom property and so far, about 200 titles have been given to the kingdom, but some districts still complain that they have not yet erected their own premises.
