The ‘war’ drums were sounded immediately Kenya and Tanzania effortlessly dispatched their opposition on Sunday at Fufa Njeru Technical Centre.
As Kenya whitewashed Zanzibar 5-0 in the one sided encounter on Sunday, their attention was fixed on the next game against Tanzania, that also broke no sweat whilst decimating Ethiopia 4-0 at the same venue to set pace in Group B of the ongoing Cecafa U-20 tourney.

Lively forward John Kelvin Pius, who led the assault on Ethiopia will spearhead Tanzania’s blazing attack force that also boasts of gems Novatus Miroshi, Andrew Simchimba, and Gadafi Ramadhan this afternoon in a clash of two free scoring nations.
“The weather conditions here are different from those in Tanzania but were are adopting and that was shown in the win over Ethiopia. We are going to counter-attack Kenya in the same way we refused Ethiopia from playing their passing game,” Tanzania coach Zebra Katwila promised. Kenyan striker Sydney Lokale, who netted a quadruple in the 5-0 triumph over Zanzibar predicted another scoring feat against Tanzania in the battle of pride and who tops the group.

“I thank my teammates for helping me score four goals. I’m going to score more goals against Tanzania even if they scored four. I plan to at least score two against them,” Lokale told Daily Monitor. Vanquished Zanzibar and Ethiopia will also try to pick up the pieces when they face off later today but as it stands, the group progression coveted two spots are Kenya and Tanzania’s to lose.
