Star Times Uganda unveiled its new products consisting of Digital TV sets, a gesture that the company hopes will expand its coverage as well as increasing its sales.
While revealing the developments at their offices in Kampala the Pay TV company’s Vice President Aldrine Nsubuga, revealed that “as power prices continue to escalate, electronics that are not convertible may be sources of poverty, especially to low income earners, hence the introduction of the ‘plug and watch television sets’ to help save “at least 60 percent of the expenses spent monthly on power.”

“With our market aggressiveness, this is one of the products that we hope shall change the perception of digital migration in Uganda. With 68 per cent of the market share, Star Times is always looking at value for money plus getting affordable products closer to our subscribers,” said Nsubuga.
These new television sets, in sizes of 40, 32 24 inches, have an inbuilt ready to use Star Times decoder system with external provisions to connect to both antenna and satellite wiring among many other benefits.
Nsubuga added that with over 850,000 subscribers, this new state of the art technology will help the Chinese company position itself to acquire more customers and consolidate existing ones by offering the highest quality services and channels.
