Fighting corruption through music

Music has always been a channel for activism. It is upon this background that anti-corruption crusaders threw a concert dubbed Anti-Corruption Music Extravaganza at Ndere Centre last week.
Youth from across the country converged at the centre to express themselves through art and music under the theme “Turn on your song, turn off corruption”.
A panel of judges sorted the chaff from the wheat in regard to the message, presentation, as well as appeal to the audience.

An opportunity for every citizen to stand against corruption is how Action Aid country director Arthur Larock described the event.
“We are tired of analysis, action is what is needed. Every single Ugandan should take action. Before you ask any question, as a citizen, what contribution are you making to the fight against corruption?” he said. There were also performances by musicians, including Bobi Wine and Coco Finger.
