Evangelism group hailed for engaging in community work

Ms Ssebuggwawo speaks during the cleaning exercise

The mayor of Rubaga Division, Ms Joyce Ssebuggwawo has commended private organisations that support efforts to improve sanitation and the well-being of residents. She was speaking at the cleaning exercising of Kasubi Market that was spearheaded by Phaneroo Ministries, at the weekend.

Ms Ssebuggawo said it’s commendable for evangelism organisations like Phaneroo Ministries to engage in community service projects.

Over 500 members of Phaneroo Ministries cleaned Kasubi Market and opened clogged trenches and roads near the market.

This was in preparation for Phaneroo Ministries' 5th year anniversary, slated for August 10 at Kololo Independence Ground.

The members also engaged evangelism because they believe that church is not meant to be in one particular building but it is an influential entity in the communities.

“We are wholly grateful for it. We are also privileged to enjoy religious freedom enough to preach the Gospel. We will also have 'Yesu yasasula' where we have taxi fares cleared for commuters on several routes as we preach the saving gospel of our Lord,” Phaneroo Ministries administrator Porche Dobinson, said.
