2012’s upcoming movies

As the year begins we will take some time to find out what Hollywood has in store for us this time round. With a gloomy economic situation predicted this year, we find out which movies are anticipated to help us escape the harsh reality.

Hollywood’s continuous love affair with sequels and remakes continues yet again this year, with several of them lined up this year. Several heroes clad in tights and spandex return to the big screen, with the amazing spider and dark knight expected later this year. Christian Bale retains his role as Batman, while virtually unknown brit Andrew Garfield takes on the role of Spiderman.

Other anticipated sequels include Underworld; awakening, the epic fight between warewolves and vampires continues, this time in 3D. Nicholas Cage returns as the ghost rider in Ghostrider; spirit of vengeance while the special breed of American soldiers returns to save the world from worldwide domination in GI. Joe; retaliation. Matt Damon is expected to retain his role as Agent Jason Bourne in Bourne legacy with death defying stunts and action packed car chases in different cities of the world.

Speaking of espionage, spy extraordinaire James Bond is destined to grace us with his magnetising presence, when Daniel Craig reprises his role of 007 later this year in Skyfall. Will Smith also returns alongside Tommy Lee Jones to protect us from the alien threat in Men in Black 3.

For the animation lovers, King Julian, the penguins and the rest of the crew take to the big screen in Madagscar 3; Europe’s most wanted. Ice age 3; continental drift is also sure to have the whole family laughing and having a good time together.

On the comedy scene, the Wayans family plans to dazzle us with their outrageous sense of humor in Scary movie 5 expected later this year alongside a remake of the Hollywood classic comedy; The Three Stooges.

Larger than life director, Quetin Tarantino brings another of his epic genius productions to life with the help of Jamie Fox in a starring role in a movie set in the slave age called D’jango.

The second part of Breaking Dawn is released, as another installment in the commercially successive franchise of the twilight saga. Texas chain saw massacre and Halloween will be released in 3D to scare the hell out of you, while a fourth installment of Paranormal Activity is also destined to give several people a couple of night mares.
