His childhood dream of becoming a doctor failed to become a reality because of his poor grasp of mathematics and science subjects, writes Charlotte Ninsiima.
Who is Oscar Ntege?
Oscar Ntege is a dynamic, creative, passionate photographer and filmmaker. My photography depicts human dignity. I am also a happily married man.
What did you want to be as a child?
Honestly, I wanted to be a doctor due to the fact that I was so good at science subjects but later on when I reached O-Level. I was hit so hard by the science subjects, especially Maths, Biology and Physics. The highest mark scored in Maths ever was 56 per cent in Senior One, I scored bad grades thereafter. Later on, I discovered I could not do sciences and gave up on my dream career. At A-Level, I continued with Fine Art since it was my thing. At university, I studied Industrial Fine Art and I majored in photography.
Why do you have more women on display than men?
A feminine body has so much to tell as opposed to a flat chest of a man. Also it is mostly females who enjoy taking photos and have no problem showing them off.
Apart from photography, what else keeps you occupied?
I read two books a week. One audio and the other hardcopy. I love to explore and widen my mind. I am actually going to enrol for a course in public speaking at Toastmasters.
What qualities would your ideal woman have?
Am a goal driven person, so I sat down and wrote the qualities of my ideal woman as loving, caring, very pretty of course being a photographer, it is a prerequisite to have a hot woman. That was a must. I want somebody who will uplift me emotionally. An author known as Paul Okowello, in his book, The alkalis, beauty is depicted to be the biggest seducer of man. I mean who does not want to be around a beautiful woman. Women are visual. If a woman stops taking care of herself, that is where you find a man moves to find someone more appealing. Then she also ought to be understanding and educated. Obviously not forgetting when to be silly and serious. I did not want to end up with a woman I could not have fun with.
What are those habits, you can’t stand in a woman you love?
I feel dihonesty and disrespect are the two things that I cannot stand. The rest are forgivable.
What would push a woman into the arms of another man?
In the world there are only three per cent of men that understand women. Have you heard women say, if a man does not beat me, I am not sure if he loves me? They do not logically mean that; in my opinion they mean they want a man who is fixated with his masculinity. A man who is loving, caring, not needy who looks at himself as a prince. A man who acts opposite to that would push a lady away. Because women are like cats, they want to come to you when they want in a way they want or which ever way. You do not have to dictate upon them. They want to be left free to love. What would push her away, is a guy that is needy (calls you five times a day, says yes to whatever you say, calls you to ask what you had for lunch). You need to give her space to think about you.
Why don’t women love needy men in your opinion?
It took me back to reading novels and watching old movies where men were depicted as men. We live in a generation where there is scarcity of masculine energy. These days men are acting like woman; a guy who goes on Facebook and starts whining about a girl, he gave everything. That is not a masculine character at all. A guy is not supposed to cry his problems out to a girl, he is supposed to be stoic in his suffering. Because we are the pillars, if a pillar on a building begins to shake that means the whole building is going to fall.
What is the difference between hot, pretty and beautiful?
Hot is visual; taking care of yourself, look good and smell nicely. Beauty is appreciated as you go deeper in a relationship. Its more of a psychological momentum. Appreciating personality, character, eyes and henceforth.
How do you keep in shape and look younger?
I am a vegetarian; no animal product because I need to keep the body alkalised. I feel so good about myself. I wake up in the morning, feeling happy, I do a lot of vegetables and water, little starch and do not apply petroleum jelly to my skin. I am on a plant diet all through.
What do women like about you most?
Most women love the tone of my voice and also feel so comfortable around me.
What is the best gift you received from your partner?
She threw a surprise party for my 30th birthday. Before that no one, not even my parents ever celebrated my birthday.
