Twenty people narrowly survived death in an accident that occurred on the Kampala-Jinja Highway yesterday. The accident that occurred at Kigunga village in Mukono District involved four cars, leaving two people severely injured while several others escaped unhurt.

According to the Regional Traffic Officer in-charge of Kampala Metropolitan, Mr Grace Kiberu, the accident was due to reckless driving. “The accident was due to reckless driving because according to our examination, there was a small distance between the cars and yet they were driving at a high speed,” Mr Kiberu said.

He added: “The driver of the Corona did not take time to see the distance between him and the cars that were coming from Kampala.” Those injured were rushed to Mulago Hospital as the wreckages were dragged to Mukono Police Station.
