80-year-old man killed, body chopped into pieces

BUIKWE- Five people are detained at Wakisi Police Station on suspicion of participating in the gruesome Christmas day murder of a resident of Byabuku village, Kalagala Parish, Wakisi Sub-county in Buikwe District.

Joseph Sonko, 80, was chopped into pieces and the suspects stashed his head, hands, intestines and private parts in a polythene bag.

Ssezibwa Region Police Spokesperson, Ms Hellen Butoto confirmed the incident saying they are investigating the grisly crime.

“We have five suspects following the brutal murder of that 80-year-old man and these suspects who are all from the same village, will help us with our investigations,” Ms Butoto said.
