Daily Monitor to unveil new look

The farming magazine, Seeds of Gold will be published on Saturday starting this week.

As part of its promise to always deliver an excellent and exciting product to its consumers, Monitor Publications Limited (MPL) will, this Friday, unveil a new-look Daily Monitor, a paper that looks to deliver broader appeal and focus.

Uganda’s most widely-read newspaper will now come to the reader in a two-in-one package: the main paper wrapped around comprehensive magazines;

  • Seeds of Gold
  • Prosper
  • Homes and Real Estate
  • Today
  • Rainbow
  • Life
  • Full Woman
  • Sqoop.

Readers will enjoy a taste of the rich readings to come, each tailored for particular market segments, in the premier Sqoop magazine which rolls out every Friday.

“We have a professional team that has invested a lot in research and re-working the Daily Monitor to appeal to our readers. The paper will offer a much better package of well researched and well written stories and it will be more engaging and interesting to read,” Mr Tony Glencross, the MPL Managing Director, said yesterday. He explained that the paper has been re-worked to fit the needs of the reader, with content that is easy and interesting to read.

“In a fast moving world, reader’s aspirations are changing rapidly and we have to continue innovating to keep pace with their information needs that is why we are re-launching, re-touching and introducing new magazines for our readers,” said Mr Charles Bichachi, Daily Monitor Executive Editor.

He said the new magazines introduced will provide functional information that touches different aspects of day to day life. They will combine the most exciting elements of everyday life while offering up sections that deal with challenges, questions and opportunities intended to help readers.

“Our magazines will include real life experiences, relationship debates, men and women health, fashion police, family fun, all packaged with fun,” added Mr Bichachi.

“We are not scraping anything but improving the face and the content and also changing the format to give more value to readers and make the paper easier to read and navigate the pages,” Mr Tamale said.

He said the newspaper will offer much more for the same price of Shs2,000. Readers will be encouraged to involve themselves in the new product by sharing their views and experiences with others through Facebook, e-mail, SMS and directly speaking to Daily Monitor’s teams.

Ms Sarah Nalule, the head of marketing at MPL expressed confidence that the paper’s advertising partners can expect to benefit too. She observed that since the new Daily Monitor seeks to be highly engaging paper, readers will spend longer time reading and absorbing its over-all content.

Today will run twice a week and is set to be our reader’s companion and a guide to addressing the challenges of everyday life; answering readers’ questions and pointing to the opportunities to make their life better and more fulfilling.

This magazine will provide readers with information to help guide them to make their decisions on construction, real estate development as well as leasing and renting.
It will answer all the housing questions.
