Evangelist Joseph Kabuleta detained in unknown jail

Police have arrested evangelist Joseph Kabuleta on charges of offensive communication against President Yoweri Museveni.
Mr Kabuleeta was arrested by plain-clothed detectives from a restaurant at Forest Mall, Lugogo, Kampala on Friday evening.
Mr Charles Twine, the spokesperson of Criminal Investigations Directorate, confirmed his arrest and detention.
"He has been arrested on offensive communication charges and he has been detained," Mr Twine said.
Mr Kabuleeta has been publishing articles on his social media platforms about the succession battle that is raging within the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM). Mr Museveni, the NRM chairman has been in power for 33 years.
Mr Twine couldn't tell the specific statements that Mr Kabuleeta made that were offensive saying the details were with the investigating officers.
He also declined to state where Mr Kabuleeta is being detained.
Cases of activists and politicians being arrested on offensive communication of the Computer Misuse Act against government officials are on the rise.
Music promoter, Mr Andrew Bajjo Mukasa was released on bail on Thursday on charges of offensive communication.
Dr Stella Nyanzi is also facing the same charges after she published articles on social media about President Museveni, his late mother and the First Lady.
