What it is about: This conference will talk about counselling for prospective students and parents .They are to be informed on the university policies, charges and the offers given to international students by the university, as well as discuss the policies and expectations.

  What: 5th International African Palliative Care Conference

Where: Speke Resort Munyonyo

What it’s about: The 5th International African Palliative Care Conference is to be hosted by the African Palliative Care Association & the Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance. The conference will examine the theme: ‘Hospice and Palliative Care: Resolution to Action.

 What: 5th East Africa Information Security Conference to be held in Kampala

Where: Hotel Africana

Time: All day

What it’s about: ISACA Kampala Chapter  in partnership with NITA-Uganda will host the 5th East Africa Information Security Conference, over the next two days under the theme: Sustaining Business Growth through Effective Cyber Security Strategies.” The target audience of this event includes  CEOs, Accountants, Finance Directors, Chief Financial Officers,  Head of Risk, Auditors, Security Managers, Senior Government Officials involved in Anti-Corruption, Governance and Fraud Prevention.

Conference Fees:  Shs400,000 for members, Shs450,000 for Non- Members and $150 for participants from outside Uganda.

 

What: Heterogeneous Infrastructure Configuration of Cities in Uganda Project (HICCUP) Thinking Infrastructure with the South

Where: Hotel Africana

What it's about: The workshop which is in its second day, is being conducted by Dr Shauib Lwasa, and Jonathan Silver,who are part of a team from various international institutions involved in the initiative. The workshop is intended to engage four students (three MSc and one PhD), who have been selected to be part of the initiative to promote critical and radical thinking about Global-South Urbanism. The event will also be attended by several civil society organisations that could potentially be partners under the HICCUP initiative. The project is meant to work in Kampala and Mbale, two cities in Uganda where the focus will be on waste and sanitation

 COURT PROCEEDINGS 

What: DPP petitions for a review of Makindye Chief Magistrate's decision not to grant him permission to take over IGP's case.

Where: High Court

Time: 9am

What it is about: The Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Mike Chibita petitions for a review, challenging the decision of Makindye Chief Magistrate Court (Mr Richard Mafabi) not to allow him take over the prosecution of the inspector general of police General Kale Kayihura who faces torture charges alongside seven of his senior officers for beating Dr Besigye's supporters last month.
