Female MPs on a pregnancy watch as Golola visits Parliament
What you say sometimes might come back to haunt you.
World kickboxing federation champion Moses Golola got a taste of his own medicine when he paid a courtesy visit to Parliament on Tuesday.
Golola has in the past been quoted saying he can make a woman pregnant by merely looking at her.
“I am a man, who can just look at a woman and she gets pregnant,” he once said, little did he know that one day, these words would come back to haunt him.
When the speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga announced his presence, Golola who was accompanied by his manager beamed with smiles amid cheers from members.
However, a few moments later, his presence in the public gallery caused unease to some members, forcing Agago Woman MP Judith Franca Akello to call on the speaker’s indulgence.
“Madam Speaker you mentioned here that Moses Golola is in the gallery, and for us women we fear that we might get pregnant,” said Ms Akello.
Drawn into laughter, the House had to be guided on whether they were proceeding well, with a “magic man” in their midst.
“I wonder if we are not at risk to proceed with a man who just looks at a woman and she becomes pregnant,” Ms Akello reiterated, causing more laughter to members and the Speaker.
Drops of tears fell from the speaker’s eyes before she could make a ruling on the procedural question raised by the member. She gasped, laughed and then cautioned.
“What I can advise is that ladies should not look at him, you look elsewhere,” said Kadaga who was still visibly caught in a web of laughter.
