Aswa Regional Police Spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema said the police visited the crime scene on Wednesday morning and retrieved the body of the deceased and had taken it to Kitgum Hospital for postmortem.

Mr Okema said two suspected assailants are still at large and police are pursuing them.

The police have recovered two cartridges at the crime scene which will be used to examine the type of gun used by the assailants.

In the same month, Mr Francis Okumu, a health worker in Lamwo district, was shot twice in the legs by unknown gunmen from his home in Bardege village, Kitgum Municipality. The assailants made off with Shs1 million and a laptop.
