Police in Mayuge District have arrested the head teacher of Nango township primary school in Malongo sub county Mayuge District for defiling a 14-year-old pupil.
Farouk Kyeyango was on Saturday arrested after he allegedly defiled his primary seven pupil who had just finished sitting for primary leaving examinations at the school.
The matter came to light when the girl’s mother, Ms Grace Nambuya reported to authorities that her child had gone missing after sitting the last paper of the primary leaving examinations on November 3.

Mr James Mubi the police spokesman for Busoga East region said following several announcements passed on radios by the family, they got information that the said girl was seen at the head teacher’s place leading to his arrest.
“We found the girl in the house and medical examination showed that she had been defiled,” Mr Mubi said.
The girl in her statement recorded at Mayuge police station said the head teacher started having sexual intercourse with her since the first term of primary seven in exchange for money.

“She started by giving me Shs500 for breakfast and later took me to his house where we had sex. He even took me to Jinja for the Agriculture show, “the girl said.
According to the girl, Kyeyango threatened to dismiss her from school if she ever reported him.
Kyeyango confessed to the crime and told Daily Monitor at Mayuge police station that: “It is true we have been having a love affair and I had sexual intercourse with her only two times.”
“I didn’t know that our affair would lead me to police. I ask for forgiveness and if God helps me to get out of here I will never do it again,” he added.

The police spokesman said investigations into the matter are complete and any time the teacher is to be taken to court for aggravated defilement.
However, the girl’s mother told this reporter that the relatives of the suspect have twice visited her asking to settle the matter out of court but she refused.
