KAMPALA. Former Police Director of Crime Intelligence Col Atwooki Ndahura has denied pleading guilty in the military court as claimed by the Attorney General early this week.
Col Ndahura’s lawyer, Mr Evans Ochieng, told Daily Monitor yesterday that his client was shocked by the Attorney General’s submissions in the High Court that he had confessed to the alleged offences in the military court.
Mr Ochieng said Col Ndahura told him that whatever the Attorney General said was false and would be challenged in court.
“Since the case is coming up next week at the UDC (army’s Unit Disciplinary Committee), we shall be there and challenge them. If they fail to correct their record, we shall go to the High Court,” Mr Ochieng said.
On Monday, the Attorney General’s representative, Ms Genevieve Kampiire, told Justice Musa Ssekaana that Col Ndahura had appeared in the military court last week and pleaded guilty to charges of interfering with the process of law and had been accordingly convicted, pending sentencing on July 13.

“Whoever wrote down that report that did not happen did it maliciously,” Mr Ochieng said yesterday.
Last week, Col Ndahura’s wife applied to the High Court to compel the army to produce her husband in any court of law after spending two weeks in military detention without trial.
Upon hearing the application, the judge ordered the army to produce him in court within five days elapsing on Monday this week.
The army prosecution file states that between February and March this year, while at Police Crime Intelligence headquarters in Bugolobi, Kampala, Col Ndahura fabricated evidence-- a document containing a list of Rwandan refugees-- justifying their kidnap and deportation back to Kigali yet the case was still under prosecution in the General Court Martial under UPDF/GCM/ 019/2017; Uganda versus ASCP, Joel Aguma, ASP Nickson Agasirwe and 7 others.
