Former first lady of Uganda Sarah Amin, wife to the Late Idi Amin Dada has passed on in London.

Sarah Kyolaba was a dancer with the army’s band and in a relationship with a long time partner in Masaka district when Amin set his eyes on her at one of the functions where her dance group was invited to entertain the president.

Fast forward, on 25th December 1974, Sarah gave birth to a child whose paternity was alleged not to be for Idi Amin but all the same, the field marshal took to Radio Uganda and declared that the child was his DNA.

Sarah a year later got married to Idi Amin and therefore became Sarah Amin, this happened during the summit for the AU (Then OAU- Organisation of African Unity).

After Amin was toppled in 1979, the couple separated just two years later, Sarah leaving the marriage with their third child, Faisal Wangita to England.

While in England, Sarah started personal business and also opened up a restaurant.
