Lady Justice Naiga dies

Lady Justice Jessica Naiga

Lady Justice Jessica Naiga Ayebazibwe has died. She died Monday night at her home in Kampala.

She was based at the Family Division of the High Court.

According to Mr Solomon Muyita, the Judiciary communications officer, Justice Naiga helped her daughter to shop in town on Monday but went home reportedly feeling tired and weak. She took a cup of tea and went to bed at about 5pm. She was found dead at about 8pm.

Prior to her appointment in 2014, she served as legal officer at National Environment Management Authority since 2007.

A graduate of law from Makerere University, she held a post graduate diploma in legal practice from the Law Development Centre.

The mother of three began her legal career in 1992 as a legal assistant with Bazire D’bango and Co. Advocates.

She left the firm and joined  Uganda Revenue Authority and served as the revenue officer for about 10 years.
