Man kills step daughter following a domestic brawl

Police in Luweero District are hunting for a 36 year old man for allegedly killing his 3-year- old step daughter and seriously injuring his wife at Nakadingidi zone in Wobulenzi Town Council on Tuesday.
The Officer in Charge Wobulenzi Police Station Mr Vianny Birungi identified the deceased only as Bibia and the injured as Roselyn Katushabe currently admitted at Orient Medical Centre.

“He (suspect) reportedly escaped at 3:30am on Tuesday after strangling to death the child and stabbing his wife five times living her unconscious. Preliminary investigations point to a domestic brawl which turned violent,” Mr Birungi said.
Ms Joyce Nabweteme, a neighbour and resident of Nakadingidi zone in Wobulenzi Town Council said she responded to an alarm made by Katushabe calling for help after her husband had fled the scene.

“We found Katushabe in a pool of blood while the baby lay on the bed lifeless,” Ms Nabweteme said.
Savana Region Police Spokesperson Mr Lameck Kigoz said police were hunting for the suspect.
Ms Amina Nambatanzi, a bar attendant and resident of Nakadingidi zone claimed the couple had been involved in a domestic brawl for the last three weeks after the suspect accused his wife of infidelity.
