NWSC to switch off water supply in Mbale for three days

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has said it will switch off the water supply in Mbale District and its surroundings for three days starting tomorrow, Thursday, August 8.

According to a statement released by the company, there will be water supply interruptions in some parts of Mbale district and the surrounding areas from Thursday August 8 to Saturday August 10.

Ms Agnes Aketch the area NWSC manager says this is being done “to enable cleaning of our main reservoirs and carry out maintenance works on the main transmission line."

According to her, the most affected areas include, Nauyo, Nabumali, Bugema, Lwaboba, the whole central business area, Nkoma, Busamaga and the surrounding areas, up to Butebo District.

"All efforts will be made to minimize the effects of the supply interruption. Our entire esteemed customers are informed to store enough water and use it sparingly," she said and asked for the community to be patient.

This is the first major water supply interruption in Mbale since the year started.
