Free Uganda Now's attempt to hold a birthday party at Constitution Square celebrating what the group claim would be President Museveni's 73rd birthday has flopped. Police moved quickly to quash any attempts by the group to congregate at the Constitution Square at 1:00pm to mark the day.

Free Uganda Now has for the past few weeks questioned President Museveni’s age saying that he is not 68 years but rather 73.

After a slight scuffle with members of the group, Police seized the decorated birthday cake and scattered the members from the venue. Brenda Nabukenya, the group’s leader, was also taken into custody by the Police.
