KAMPALA

Masindi District Council has honored Principal Judge Dr Yorokamu Bamwine for his exemplary judicial services and support that he renders to the people of Masindi and the Judiciary in general.
The motion to honor Dr Bamwine was moved by councilor Badru Mugabi during the September 30 session which was unanimously approved by members of the council.
Justice Bamwine was recognized for the continued commendable reports of appreciation as far as administration of justice is concerned in Masindi district by his officials like resident judge Simon Byabakama, Chief Magistrate Jesse Byaruhanga, Grade One Magistrate Sharon Niwaha and Grade Two Magistrate Robert Komakech Oloyo. To that effect he was awarded a certificate of recognition.

“On behalf of the community and district leadership, I wish to recognize and appreciate his Lordship the Principal Judge of the Republic of Uganda for the exemplary leadership and immeasurable judicial services to this country,” reads in part the motion to honor Dr Bamwine.
The motion further read, “Whereas we have heard about various challenges and conflicts between courts of law, communities and districts, we the representatives of the people of Masindi have continued to receive commendable reports of appreciation regarding the administration of justice in this area.”
In his appreciation message for the award, Dr Bamwine said it was a humbling experience for him since the judiciary is the executive arm of state.
“It’s a great honor to me as the head of High Court and subordinate courts and the judiciary as a whole. A word of thanks from the executive to the judiciary for a well done job is worth a celebration….” said Dr Bamwine, adding: “the award is therefore, a very humbling experience. My sincere thanks go to Masindi district council and community for the recognition.”
