Residents of Bar-onger go down village, Railways Division in Lira Municipality on Saturday blocked Lira Municipal Council authority officials from accessing a public cemetery located in their area.

The irate residents reportedly chased away people who had taken a decomposing body from Lira regional referral hospital for burial at the public cemetery owned by Lira Municipal Council.

They argued that decomposing bodies are often buried in shallow graves and dogs usually exhume the bodies littering pieces in their homesteads. They say the stench from the decomposing human body pieces littered in their homes by dogs is too much for them to bear.
