Two shot dead at Maj Juma Seiko’s home

  • The incident comes just a week after Sheikh Maj Muhammad Kiggundu was shot dead by unknown assailants.

Police in Kampala are investigating a case in which two people were in the wee hours of Sunday morning shot dead at the chairman Board of Sebei Elgon Cooperative Union (SECU) Maj Juma Seiko’s home in Nakasero.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Mr Emilian Kayima, the shooting which happened at around 3 am left one of the guards at Maj Seiko’s home located at Plot 1A Nakasero Road and a bodaboda man dead.

Kayima identified the deceased as Lameck Ogwang, a security personnel attached to SGA, a private security firm and Fred Ssembatya, a boda boda rider along Balintuma Road in Mengo.

One person only identified as Ssenkubuge was injured in the thigh and rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital for surgery.

“Police arrested the suspect, a one Alex Cherotik who is a veteran and a guard at the home in question. The killer gun is with us. Statements have been recorded,” said Kayima without divulging further details.
