Uganda Martyrs Day Celebration

The long a waited day has come to reality with a procession of priests from different dioceses leading into the pavilion.

By 6am, the pilgrims who have been staying at the shrine for the past six days had taken their seats. They were joined by hundreds of others who arrived today.

By 8am in the pavilions where pilgrims are supposed to sit were already full. The people who were not yet in were struggling to find their way.

 At 9.30am, the mass kicked off. The Bishop of Hoima Diocese Rt Rev Vincent Kirabo whose Diocese is hosting this year's Marty's day is leading the prayers.

The mass is expected to end at exactly 12.30pm before the speeches from different personalities start

The first reading is going to be taken from the book of Prophet Daniel (Dan 3:16-23,91,93) and the second reading from the book of St Paul to Colossians (Col 2:6-15) and the Gospel reading will be taken from the book of Matthew 5.13-16.

Meanwhile, Vice President Edward Ssekandi is expected as the guest of honour.
