Uganda’s envoy to Malaysia dies

Foreign Affairs state minister in charge of International Relations Henry Okello Oryem described the deceased as, “a wonderful woman who dedicated her time and effort to attract investment from Malaysia to Uganda”.

Kampala- Uganda lost one of her envoys at the weekend albeit the burial and death going silently with government making no public announcement.

Ms Hajah Noraihan Mohamad Adnan, Uganda’s Honorary Consul to Malaysia, died last Saturday and was buried in Malaysia yesterday.

Foreign Affairs state minister in charge of International Relations Henry Okello Oryem described the deceased as, “a wonderful woman who dedicated her time and effort to attract investment from Malaysia to Uganda”.

Her tenure is credited for opening doors to Ugandans to study in top notch Malaysian universities, with an influx of students seeking scholarships in the country rising from 2004 after her appointment in 2003.
