Soccernet to dress national netball team in South Africa
KAMPALA. Local sportswear company Soccernet yesterday morning offered to dress the She Cranes ahead of their trip to South Africa for the Diamond Challenge tourney.
The joy and relief exhibited by the team at the ceremony held at the Lugogo MTN Arena however offered a reminder that there is still more work to do in terms of preparations ahead of the Sydney Netball World Cup in August.
“We have been the worst dressed team at the tournaments. So we are really thankful for the gesture shown by the company and are hopeful there are still other Ugandans with a similar heart,” Uganda Netball Federation general secretary Annet Kisomose stated at the event.
The federation also has a partnership with Asiatic sports another local sportswear company that will cater for the team attire while in Australia.
According to Kisomose, the hosts will cater for the team’s travel and accommodation while the federation are still looking for more funds to facilitate other requirements while in South Africa.
The offer will see the company provide 18 track suits worth Shs2.16 million to the team that departs Sunday.
