Mongers eager to inflict pain on Kobs in Entebbe

What you need to know:

Straight from a resounding 38-3 win over Rams, Mongers know that they need to carry last weekend’s momentum into today’s rubber but they also need luck on their side to beat a Kobs outfit that ousted them 29-10 back in December during the first round

Known for its surly nature of traits similar to those of a grazing ground, Sadolin Mongers’ home turf has always left visiting opponents with a lot to talk about after games and consequently earning it’s self a terrifying name in ‘The House of Pain’.
But the home side has recorded some historical wins down there and they hope to do the same when they host Betway Kobs today in the Nile Special Rugby Premiership.
“We know them (Kobs) and they know us,” coach Kigongo Ssebalamu told SCORE. “We have beaten them from here before and there is nothing new about them, it’s the same old routine.”

“If we play like we did against Rams and get out tactics right, then it’s there for the taking but we also need luck on our side,” adds Ssebalamu.

Burying the hatchet
Buzz Pirates were dealt a huge blow in their bid to catch up with the top two run away sides Kobs and Hima Cement Heathens when they lost 3-0 to Rhinos in a dull game last Friday.
They now have a chance to put those memories behind then when they host Warriors.
“It was a bad game for us but we need to polish up and focus on the next one,” said captain Mathew Egeru’s words after his side’s loss to EzeeMoney Rhinos.

Reverse fixture
In the other fixture, Impis host Toyota Buffaloes in a reverse fixture that was supposed to be played on Tuesday but it could not go on as the home side could not avail an ambulance on time thus granting Impis a bonus point walk-over win.
