Badminton players head to Morocco for All Africa Games due August 16-30 with winning more medals at the back of their minds.
Six players including Uganda’s seed one Brian Kasirye, Devis Senono, Daniel Mihigo, Aisha Nakiyemba, Gladys Mbabazi and Mable Namakoye made it to the list that will represent the country at the continental event after two months of training at Sharing Youth Centre in Nsambya and MTN Arena, Lugogo.
Uganda’s Badminton has won three medals including two bronze and a silver at All Africa Games by one Edwin Ekiring, who will not take part in this year’s edition after retiring. Among Uganda’s favourites include Brian Kasirye and Aisha Nakiyemba who participated at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Kasirye, a student at Kakungulu Memorial School returned in June for the National Schools Badminton Championships after suffering a knee injury. Meanwhile Nakiyemba will be fresh from the 2019 Hyderabad Badminton Open in India where she took part last week.
