Denis Mbidde was on Saturday approved as Fufa vice-president in charge of the topflight league by the federation’s Extra General Assembly held at St. Lira Hotel.

This was after his election as chairman of the Uganda Premier League clubs to replace Mujib Kasule.
Kasule lost the position after his club - Proline - was eliminated to the lower tier, the Big League, last season. “I promise to work to the best of my ability. Sales and marketing is my blood and I will help the federation on this particular front,” Mbidde promised the soccer delegates.

The assembly that was attended by 56 of the expected 86 delegates, also admitted three new member associations; Uganda Football Players Association (UFPA), Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) and Uganda Tertiary Institutions Football Association (UTIFA).

The three join 32 other Fufa associations pending Fifa’s approval.
The players’ association president, Patrick Ntege, who had been previously banned from Fufa assemblies attended and the assembly lifted his ban.
