KAMPALA -

Old boys of Kitabi Seminary (KISOBA) in Bushenyi and St. Joseph’s Vocational School, Mbarara on Saturday October 24 competed in Basketball, Volleyball and Football with JOVOC, winning two of the three events. KISOBA came out on top in Football.

The games played at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, saw visitors JOVOC draw the first blood winning the basketball game 44-30. JOVOC captained by Alex Byamukama was spurred to the win by the industrious Emmanuel Kansiime, and the Bangirana brothers – Dr. Paul and Lawrence. KISOBA then hit back in the next event – Football, in which her diminutive team captained by Eng. Process Ahabwe took a two-goal first half lead scored by Ronald Ntanzi and David Mukundane.

JOVOC coach, Zagalo and team manager Paul Nkusi then made several changes in the second half bringing on the likes of veteran striker Alex Atuhaire, defender Pius Mugabe and winger Alex Asiimwe, and soon pulled one goal back through substitute Everest Muhereza. But just as they were putting their act together, JOVOC were hit with two read cards in 5 minutes – with Pius Mugabe dismissed after denying a clear goal scoring opportunity while their captain Anthony Alinda soon also followed after committing a second bookable offence. The football game ended 2-1.
