What you need to know:

To confirm their ambitions, the champions have made a huge statement of intent with the signing of double Zone V Club Championship MVP Landry Ndikumana.

Kampala- It is an open secret that the trophy City Oilers now crave is the Fiba Africa Zone V Basketball Club Championship.

And few would blame them especially after a one-sided 4-0 finals series sweep over Tiger Head Power last season that clinched back to back national basketball league titles.

To confirm their ambitions, the champions have made a huge statement of intent with the signing of double Zone V Club Championship MVP Landry Ndikumana.

The centre who joined from Zone V club champions side Urunani, was the star attraction as the Burundian club sealed consecutive regional titles last year.

The player according to City Oilers manager Rugambwa will play for the club in the next three seasons after agreeing a three year contract with the club.

“He is a good offensive player, can post low and is also a good rebounder,” Rugambwa said of the signing that is expected to improve a front court already consisting of the imperious Kami Kabange.

Ndikumana has been in the country for a while and featured for Team Koma in week four’s 53-37 win over Team Malinga at the Friday Night Lights tournament 10 days ago.
