Since the NRA came to power in 1986, the army has typically followed a British-style approach to parades and public ceremonies. However, this year, a new form of parade and performance was introduced during the Independence Day celebrations in Busia. According to Deputy Army Spokesperson Col. Deo Akiiki, the changes were implemented by Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
