Parliament has defended the expenditure of Shs2.8 billion to procure two ceremonial cars and houses for Speaker Anita Among and her deputy Thomas Tayebwa. The Director for Communications and Public Affairs at Parliament, Chris Obore says the purchase of these items for the Presiding officers is intended to save public resources on the maintenance of vehicles and renting of houses.
