Kanungu District has imposed a ban on the movement and consumption of livestock following the outbreak of a disease suspected to be Anthrax. The disease, which has claimed the lives of 63 cattle and two people, has left 28 others bedridden. Samples have been sent to Entebbe laboratory for analysis to confirm if it is anthrax.
