An urban club with a rural clientèle

I have been on forced ‘hanging-out-leave’ because times are hard. I had to reduce on my trips to the bars and night clubs lest I risk contracting the ‘brokeness syndrome’. While on leave, there was so much talk about this new stunning night club in Mengo. Some revellers went as far as referring to it as the biggest club in East Africa. This definitely raised my eyebrows and FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) made me check it out.

This new club is called Club Ambience, located in Bukesa, Mengo. It welcomes you with a breathtaking outside view. The strobe lights that reach the dark clouds arouse a party mood before one even enters the club. When I got inside this club, my eyes for a few seconds shut by default, why? The lighting was too much. The multi-coloured lights were too strong. I paid Shs,000 to access the ordinary section after realising that VIP cost Shs30, 000 and the executive lounge goes for Shs50, 000.

The ordinary section had stale and rowdy patrons. It was packed and worst of all, some revellers were on another mission- to dig deep into other people’s pockets (read pickpockets). I was disappointed. A stunning hangout like Ambience should not have a clientele of locals like those. By the look of things, it was like boda boda riders, taxi drivers and conductors and Kikuubo traders had filled up this club.
The washrooms were regularly cleaned and the transparent glass windows allowed a stunning view of the city. It has ample parking space too.
I think this club is maintaining its Masaka clientele.
